The Election Commission today announced a fresh schedule for the Ghoradongari assembly bypoll in Madhya Pradesh which was earlier postponed at the insistence of the state government.
EC said the bypoll will now take place on May 30 and the counting will be held on June 2.
The EC had announced bypoll to this seat along with eight other Assembly seats for May 16.
The Madhya Pradesh government has sought postponement of polls by 10 days because of the religious gathering.
The state government had informed the Commission that Simhastha Mahakumbh is due to begin on April 22 and would continue for one month.
