The order to this effect was issued by Indore Collector P Narhari under MP Drinking Water Preservation Act.
It also imposed a ban on drawing water from reservoirs and wells situated in the littoral areas of the two rivers, an official release said.
The order was issued by the Indore Collector on the request of his Ujjain counterpart for ensuring availability of ample water during Simhasth Mela-2016, it added.
Ujjain is located on the banks of river Kshipra and its origin is situated at the Ujjaini village in Indore district.
The Simhasth Mela is held after a gap of every 12 years and will start from April 22 and culminate on May 21.
Nearly five crore devotees from the country and abroad are expected to take part in it.
