Opposition Congress today said it would seek to win the upcoming Assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh on the plank of development and by highlighting the "false promises" made by the state's BJP Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Taking a dig at Chouhan, the chairman of the state Congress media committee, Prem Chand Guddu, termed the CM a "ghoshna veer" (braggart) and alleged that he had done nothing for the common masses except making tall claims.
"Chouhan has done nothing but only made announcements. He should be referred to as a person adept in making announcements. Congress would approach this year's Assembly elections by giving Chouhan the title of 'ghoshna veer'," he said.
Guddu claimed even BJP Rajya Sabha MP Raghunandan Sharma had described Chouhan as a "ghoshna veer".
Responding to a query, Guddu said Congress's decision not to pit a chief ministerial candidate against Chouhan would not in any way harm the party's prospects. Chouhan is seeking a third term in the polls this year-end.
"It is evident that Chouhan does not trust any of his ministers as none of them was seen in the BJP campaign for elections," Guddu said.
Congress would place before people the details of development work carried out in the state under various Central schemes, he added.
