MP CM twisted norms for good rank of his niece in MPPSC:Katare

Keeping up the heat on Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in alleged recruitment scam, Congress today accused him of "twisting" norms to secure a good ranking for his niece in the state public service commission exam.
Leader of Opposition in the state Satyadev Katare alleged that Ritu Chouhan got seventh rank only because rules were manipulated by the MP Public Service Commission at the CM's behest.
"There should be a Supreme Court-monitored probe by a Special Investigation Team. If not, then at least the CBI should probe it. State police officials cannot do an impartial inquiry," he said, rejecting a High Court-monitored Special task Force probe.

Speaking at a press conference, Katare said the state government changed rules so that records could be destroyed in three months. It was done to thwart RTI queries, he said.
Several girl candidates could not get through despite getting higher marks than man applicants as reservation rules were distorted, he alleged.
Katare had made similar allegations in Bhopal yesterday and the government had rubbished them.
The state government had said Ritu's selection was in order and the rule about destroying records in three months existed in other states as well.
Katare demanded that Ritu's answer sheet should be given to other applicants under the RTI but the government has cited a High Court order to deny it, saying it can be provided to only the applicant it belongs.
