MP Congress accuses BJP of cash distribution, moves CEC

The Madhya Pradesh unit of Congress today filed a complaint with Chief Election Commissioner V S Sampath, alleging that the ruling BJP was distributing cash through an NGO in the Bhind Lok Sabha constituency in the state.
Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, Satyadev Katare, also submitted some documents to substantiate his complaint to the CEC which names the NGO Gathjod Sukh Samraddhi Welfare Society.
Katare said here that Congress suspected that BJP was using this NGO to distribute cash to people ahead of the polls, by directly transferring the money into beneficiary's account.
This averted the need to transport hard cash, he said.

This was a serious breach of model code of conduct, he said.
Dr Bhagirath Prasad, BJP candidate from the constituency, denied the allegation as "baseless".
