In the wake of a recent Supreme Court order, the Madhya Pradesh government has constituted state and district level committees to fix responsibilities of officials who deal with court cases in a casual manner.
District and state level committees would fix the responsibility of officials who deal with court cases deliberately in a casual manner and against whom courts pass adverse remarks after founding laxity in investigations, according to an official release issued here today.
In its recent order in the Gujarat versus Kishan Bhai case, the SC ordered to fix responsibility of such officials who deliberately deal with court cases in a casual manner and do not investigate the matter properly, the release said.
In the light of the above order, committees at state and district levels have been constituted by the Madhya Pradesh state government, the release said.
At the district level, the committee is to be headed by the district collector, the superintendent of police and the district prosecution officer, the release said.
After studying such matters, the committee would send its recommendations to the state level committee for necessary action, the release said.
The state level committee would be headed by Principal Secretary (PS) of the Home Department.
Other committee members would include Principal Secretary of Law Department, Director of Public Prosecution, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) CID and the Deputy Secretary of the Home Department, the release said.
Both these committees would meet every month to review cases, the release said.
