The state government employees too have decided to donate a day's salary towards relief for the northern state. The amount would add up to Rs 64 crore.
The decision was taken by government employees association and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Manoj Shrivastava.
Chairman of Madhya Pradesh Gou Sanrakshan Board Shiv Choube, Text-Book Corporation chairman Rai Singh Sendhav and the State Employees Welfare Committee chairman Basant Purohit too have decided to donate one month's salary.
Chouhan spoke to Public Relations Minister Laxmikant Sharma who is heading the relief operations, camping in Dehradun.
According to Sharma, about 500 pilgrims from Madhya Pradesh were still stranded in Badrinath but they were safe.
A special aircraft would bring back another batch of pilgrims from Uttarakhand here this evening, sources added.
