MP govt transfers three police officials out of Mandsaur

The Madhya Pradesh government today transferred three police officials out of Mandsaur, where five farmers were killed in police firing last week.
The state government issued the transfer orders as Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan continued to camp in Mandsaur on the second day today, after meeting the family members of the slain farmers yesterday.
These families had urged Chouhan to take action against those who are guilty of farmers' killing.
On June 8, two days after the firing incident, the state government had transferred the Mandsaur collector S K Singh and superintendent of police O P Tripathi.
The government effected transfers of total six police officials today, with three of them being transferred out of Mandsaur.

The transferred officials include two Additional Superintendents of Police (ASP), two Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) and one Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP), a public relations department official said.

As per the state government orders, SDOP of Malhargarh, Radheshyam Solanki, under whose jurisdiction the police firing took place, has been transferred to Police Headquarters (PHQ) in Bhopal as DSP.
Pradeep Bakshi, who was so far posted as DSP (AJK), Mandsaur, would replace Solanki.
ASP Mandsaur, Ajay Pratap Singh was also transferred as Deputy Commandant, 35 Battalion, Special Armed Force (SAF), Mandla. Another ASP, Garoth (Mandsaur) S S Kanesh would replace Singh as ASP, Mandsaur.

Sandhya Rai, SDOP, Mandsaur has also been transferred as DSP at PHQ, Bhopal. Rakesh Mohan Shukla, DSP, Ujjain, will replace Rai as SDOP, Mandsaur.
Meanwhile, the chief minister today performed puja at Mandsaur's Pashupati Nath mandir and met people. Later, he also held talks with farmers at Jaora town of neighbouring Ratlam district.
During his dialogue with the peasants, Chouhan ensured them that the government would fix minimum support price (MSP) for all the farm produce.
He also ensured that after selling their farm produce, the farmers would be paid money within 24 hours.
Chouhan is scheduled to return to Bhopal tonight.

He had yesterday visited Mandsaur and handed over Rs 1 crore each as aid to the kin of the slain farmers and also promised government jobs to them.
Madhya Pradesh had witnessed a major farmers' protest in the past fortnight.
The farmers' protest, which began on June 1, took a violent turn on June 6, when five persons were killed in police firing at Mandsaur.
The farmers' protest also witnessed bandh and arson as the agitation in several districts of Madhya Pradesh.
