Madhya Pradesh Central Press Club (MPCPC) Monday sought an apology from actor Kangana Ranaut for using "vulgar" language against a PTI journalist at a press conference in Mumbai.
Ranaut was engaged in a verbal spat with journalist, Justin Rao, at a promotional event for her film "Judgementall Hai Kya".
"We strongly deplore the indecent, uncultured, vulgar and abusive language used by Ranaut against the journalist," MPCPC senior vice president Sarman Nagale said in a statement.
"Such a conduct is unacceptable to journalists. Ranaut's language is too objectionable and she should not only apologise to journalists but also respect the media," he added.
The Entertainment Journalists Guild has already boycotted Ranaut for not apologising to the journalist.
The Press Club of India has backed the Guild's stand, which has also received support from Mumbai Press Club, the Uttar Pradesh State Accredited Correspondents Committee(UPSACC) as well as Jaipur-based Pink city press club.
Abhay Joshi, president Pink City Press Club, said the actor's behaviour was "unacceptable".
He said journalists will oppose the promotion of Ranaut's upcoming film 'Judgmentall Hai Kya' in Jaipur and her boycott in the media will continue.
