MPPSC's deputy secretary Vandana Vaidya said in a statement that MPPSC is an independent constitutional body and the state does not interfere in its functioning.
Leader of Opposition in Assembly and Congress leader Satyadev Katare had alleged yesterday that MPPSC rules were tweaked in order to select the CM's niece Ritu Chouhan for the post of deputy collector's. He claimed that to create vacancy for her in OBC quota, another girl Tina Yadav, who too was from OBC category, was selected in ST quota.
She further said that Yadav belonged to SC category, in which she was selected, and the commission has a copy of her caste certificate.
Katare had also alleged that MPPSC did not furnish a copy of Ritu's answer sheet under the RTI Act. But Vaidya said that as per a High Court ruling, only a candidate can seek a copy of answer-sheet.
"The results of MPPSC exam, 2008 were declared on October 28, 2010 and as per the rules then, copies of answer-sheets were destroyed on December 16, 2011," she said.
