He anticipated that TMC, TDP and JD-U would come together with SP and others to form the Third Front. He said he has worked with these parties in the past.
"In the next elections, neither Congress nor BJP will get a majority. Among the Third Forces, Samajwadi Party will be the biggest," Yadav said in an interview to Aajtak.
The socialist leader was dismissive of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi saying his name is being tom-tommed only by the media.
Asked if the next elections will be Modi versus Rahul Gandhi, Yadav said during the Uttar Pradesh elections also it was said that it is between Rahul and Akhilesh Yadav.
"Modi should tell what he has achieved. What is the Modi model? Reliance is behind the prosperity of Gujarat," Yadav said.
Yadav said there is nothing wrong in NCP chief Sharad Pawar having the desire to become the Prime Minister. "What is wrong if he has this ambition? We have come to do politics. We are not saints and sanyasis," he said.
He also praised BJP leader L K Advani, asking is he not a leader of the country.
