Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav today met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at his official residence here in the backdrop of the apex court directive asking former chief ministers of the state to vacate their government accommodation.

"Mulayam Singh reached the chief minister's residence this afternoon and remained there for about 20 minutes. It was an unscheduled meeting," a senior official said.

The former chief minister resides at 5-Vikramaditya Marg, while his son, Akhilesh Yadav, also a former chief minister, is his neighbour at 4-Vikramaditya Marg.

The court was hearing a petition filed by an NGO
