Multispeciality hospital dedicated to nation by Kalam

Dubai-based healthcare tycoon Azad Moopen's dream project -- multispeciality hospital in Kochi-- was dedicated to the nation by former President A P J Abdul Kalam today.
To mark the occasion, the Aster Medicity staff, under the leadership of Moopen, pledged to donate their organs to sustain life and be of service to the humanity.
Envisaged as a comprehensive medical township, the first phase of Medicity has one multispeciality hospital and eight separate Centres of Excellence.
Addressing the inaugural function, also attended by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and many of his cabinet colleagues, Kalam said being at Aster Medicity, he realises that health care services in the country are "certainly progressing towards achieving technologial expertise and experience".

In his speech, Chandy said Kerala has always been known for its traditional healthcare services and with Aster Medicity, the state has a new facility that it can be proud of --especially in terms of its technological advantages.
Moopen said the hospital would provide quality healthcare at affordable cost.
