According to Dadar police, Mehdi Imam (76) was posted as a security guard at Barjatya's office by a private security agency. He was found dead in the office pantry on March 11.
He lived in the same building. The body, in a decomposed state, was found two days after he was reported missing.
"We learnt that another security guard, Totan Biswas (35), used to visit Imam every Sunday and he had been missing since March 10," said a police officer.
Biswas allegedly told police that he had gone to Imam's place after drinking liquor, and asked for Imam's phone. When Imam refused, Biswas got angry and strangled him and fled.
