Municipal council clerk held for accepting Rs 1 lakh bribe

A senior clerk posted in Amalner Municipal Council in neighbouring Jalgaon district was arrested today by ACB for allegedly accepting Rs one lakh in bribe by promising job to complainant.
Nitin Khairnar had promised job to the complainant under 'compassionate grounds' quota in place of his father, ACB stated in a release.
He was caught in his office in morning when he was accepting money.
According to the agency, Khairnar, who is posted in administration department, had demanded Rs 2 lakh from the complainant, but later settled for Rs 1 lakh.
