Municipal officer caught while taking bribe

The Lokayukta police today arrested an assistant revenue inspector of the local municipality while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.
"We arrested Shajapur ARI Kanta Prasad Sharma at his office while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a local resident," said inspector Kamal Nigwal.
Sharma had demanded Rs 50,000 in connection with processing of a shop lease deed.
Later he settled for Rs 30,000 and was to accept the first instalment today, Nigwal added.
He was booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act and granted bail by the police on a personal bond of Rs 50,000.
