Murder accused escapes during transport from court

A murder accused escaped from police custody when he was being taken in a bus from a court hearing in Muzaffarnagar to Meerut.
Following the incident which happened on the Delhi-Dehradun national highway yesterday, police constables Naresh and Shrikant were booked and arrested for negligence of duty, SHO Dorala Yashvir Singh said.
As police flashed the news of the incident, security checks were enforced in western Uttar Pradesh.
The escapee Muntalib, was involved in several cases of murder and loot, police said. He is a history-sheeter in Purqazi and had been lodged in Pilibhit jail.
