Ahead of Assembly polls, BJP today attempted to strike a chord with the Muslim population here in Jammu and Kashmir, saying the Muslims in India were more prosperous as compared to the Muslims living in Pakistan.
"Muslims living in India are more prosperous than the Muslims living in Pakistan because every citizen of India has got same rights under the Constitution, irrespective of his region," BJP national spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said.
He was addressing election rallies in the bordering areas of Surankot, Poonch and Mendhar in support of the party candidates.
Shahnawaz said BJP was the only party that can resolve the issues and problems being faced by the residents of Jammu and Kashmir.
"BJP is the only party which can resolve the issues of the people of Jammu and Kashmir," he said.
"Development of the state is BJP's top priority and after forming the majority government, BJP will work for employment, education, security, basic facilities, like road connectivity, and safe drinking water besides, ending corruption and dynastic rule," he said.
Shahnawaz said the BJP will concentrate on reaching the masses with good governance and mitigating their problems.
Appealing people to vote in favour of BJP candidates, he said BJP has the development agenda and will develop Jammu and Kashmir like never before.
