Mustard seed prices fell further by Rs 21 to Rs 4,161 per quintal in futures trade today after investors cut bets amid a weak trend in the physical market.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, mustard seed to be delivered in May contracts fell further by Rs 23, or 0.58 per cent, to Rs 3,924 per quintal with an open interest of 1,10,980 lots.
Mustard seed for delivery in the current month also went down by Rs 16, or 0.41 per cent, to Rs 3,891 per quintal with an open interest of 24,600 lots.
Marketmen said persistent trimming of positions by participants in line with a weak trend at the spot markets due to reduced offtake by mills led to the fall in mustard seed prices in futures trade here.
