Mustardseed futures decline on profit booking

Mustardseed prices fell by Rs 7 to Rs 4,219 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators preferred to book positions at higher levels, driven by weak sentiment in physical markets.
Marketmen said besides profit booking at prevailing higher levels, slackened demand against increased supplies from growing regions also weighed on mustardseed prices at futures trade.
In futures trading at the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, mustardseed for October month delivery contracts lost Rs 7, or 0.17 per cent, to Rs 4,219 per quintal, having an open interest of 75,720 lots.
In a similar manner, the November month delivery was trading lower by Rs 5, or 0.12 per cent, at Rs 4,320 per quintal, with an open interest of 30,300 lots.
