Chana futures traded lower by 1.17 per cent to Rs 4,480 per quintal today as participants trimmed positions amid easing demand at spot market against adequate stocks position.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for delivery in September eased by Rs 53, or 1.17 per cent to Rs 4,480 per quintal with an open interest of 4590 lots.
The commodity for delivery in October contracts also traded lower Rs 35, or 0.76 per cent to Rs 4,557 per quintal in 1,41,730 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators, triggered by falling demand at the spot market against sufficient stocks position mainly kept pressure on chana prices in the futures trade.
