Mentha oil prices softened by 0.17 per cent to Rs 992.10 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed positions amid easing demand from consuming industries at the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in May declined by Rs 1.70, or 0.17 per cent to Rs 992.10 per kg in business turnover of one lot.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in April edged down by 80 paise, or 0.08 per cent to Rs 988 per kg in 33 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by participants owing to slackened demand from consuming industries in spot market against ample stocks position on increased supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly led to the decline in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
