Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said his government was committed to develop villages and Rs 700 crore has been earmarked for skill development of the unemployed.
The government's aim was to set up more than 32,000 enterprising Sakhi Mandals, Das said, adding the government has also made special provision in the budget for strengthening village economy.
Stating that the focus of every scheme is development of the poor and the villages, Das said all sections of the society should come forward to end poverty, rising above politics and thinking about social sensitivity, according to an official release.
He was addressing at the Paramveer Albert Ekka Stadium where community marriage (23 couples) was held with tradition under Mukhya Mantri Kanyadan Yozana. They were given cheques and other materials under the scheme, the release said.
The Chief Minister gave a cheque for one lakh to a minor girl, who had raised objection against marriage as she was a minor.
Das also appreciated "Teli Samaj" for working against social evils through such cultural programmes.
He said the state was trying to bring back more than thirty thousand children who have since migrated, the release said.
He appealed to rise above narrow mindedness and work for all round development of the state and society.
The chief minister advised to form groups comprising fifteen members each to strengthen women employment and select a job of their choice and cited an example as to how Jharkhand gets milk from other states and these groups could make the state self-sufficient in milk production.
The chief minister said that had the local policy been introduced earlier so many unemployment people would not have been there.
He said his government has already introduced local policy and appointments begun and appealed to the youth to prepare themselves for examinations as per their choice of jobs.
Global Investment Summit is being organised on February 16 and 17 to give opportunities to investors from the country and abroad, Das said and added investments would generate employment.
Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Dinesh Oraon said that society and country would be strong with the strengthening of society, adding there was everyone's role in the uplift of society.
