Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today said the state government welcomes the Naga Peace Accord if it excludes the extended areas of Naga inhabitation in the state.
"The Government of Assam definitely welcomes the Naga Peace Accord if the framework for any settlement excludes the extended areas of Naga inhabitation in Assam," Gogoi said in a statement here.
"If the Naga Peace Accord leads to settlement of all vexed issues, then it will eventually pave way for peace, progress and prosperity in Nagaland and the region as a whole," the Chief Minister added.
