Nagaland police seized 1,184 kgs of contraband in 2014

A total of 261 persons, including 14 women were arrested in connection with 256 cognizable offences under relevant sections of law by the police under Kohima in 2014, the police said.
A total of 1,184 Kgs of contraband and 37,534 capsules of spasmo proxyvon worth Rs 50 lakh and 9,575 bottles of liquor of various brands worth Rs 20 lakh were seized during the year under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 and Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition Act (NLTP) Act, they said.
The Police also said a total 23 pistols, eight rifles and 763 live rounds of ammunition of various caliber, one hand grenade - Delay K-75 and 33 detonators were also seized.
