Nagaland Chief Minister T R Zeliang said this during an interaction with media persons on the sidelines of a programme here today.
The CM said the Union Minister gave the assurances during his visit to the State on August 7 and 8 following an appeal by the state for establishment of a Central Agricultural University (CAU) in the state.
The appeal was supplemented by representatives from Nagaland University and Naga Hoho, apex tribal body in the State, he said.
Zeliang said the Union Minister has provided Rs 2.15 crore for rearing of Mithun, a semi-domesticated bovine animal, and assured the state to provide more funds for Mithun projects in Nagaland.
Meanwhile, asked about delay in the commencement of works for four laning of Kohima and Dimapur NH-29, Zeliang said the work would commence after the rainy season is over.
