The Fadnavis Government has put Nagpur at top of the list followed by Amravati, Aurangabad and Nashik divisions in terms of filling up pending vacancies through direct recruitment or promotions, said RTI activist Anil Galgali, who filed the plea, citing information provided by officials.
In this process, the regions of Konkan and Pune have been pushed to the lower order.
Galgali had filed a query seeking information about the Government Resolution (GR) issued on filling up vacancies region-wise for various posts, either through direct recruitment or promotions.
The state had 1,30,251 vacant posts at the end of 2014.
Amravati division accounted for the highest at 16.61 per cent followed by Konkan division (15.3%), Pune division (14.18%), Nashik (13.18%), Nagpur (12.26%) and Aurangabad divisions (11.14%), it was informed.
Fadnavis gave top priority to Nagpur. He issued directive for filling up the vacancies in the rotational order of Nagpur/Amravati/Aurangabad/Nashik, overlooking the need of Konkan and Pune divisions, Galgali said.
