K T Rama Rao Telangana IT Minister and son of KCR had earlier reportedly said they may go to Amaravati function if they receive an invitation from the AP Government.
"The Chief Minister met KCR today and invited him for the ceremony on October 22," an official release said.
The AP ministers have also invited Telangana leaders, Legislative Assembly Speaker S Madhusudanachary, Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy, Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy for the ceremony.
The state government had already announced that the celebrations for the new capital would begin on October 13 and continue till October 22.
Elaborating about the features of the new capital, Naidu earlier said that Amaravati would be a blue and green city, where green energy would be promoted in a big way.
