Naidu stresses on creating digital health profiles

The Andhra Pradesh government today set a three-year deadline to transform the state into 'Aarogya Andhra Pradesh'.
In a workshop on 'Aarogya Andhra' (healthy AP), Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu emphasised on creating a digital health profile of every citizen in order to provide better medical facilities.
"He stressed on eliminating poverty and creating a healthy and happy society for all. To achieve this, he sought active cooperation from doctors, officials and corporate sector to create AP as a medical hub and boost medical tourism in the state," a state government release said.
Similar to the use of technology in linking Aadhar and social security pensions, he stressed on implementing the same method for providing better medical facilities, it said.

Naidu reminded that more than 100 ailments are being treated under the state government's premier health scheme 'NTR Vaidya Seva'.
He recalled that details of about 40 lakh kids below five years have been computerised.

"Making IMR, MMR and other healthcare services affordable is our aim," he added.
Naidu, who looked at the inputs from Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and TCS, favoured making world's best medical facilities available in the state.
Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Y S Choudhary, who has been appointed as the convener to monitor the activities of 'Aarogya-Andhra Pradesh' initiative, spoke about the role of medical colleges and big hospitals in expanding health services.

"Every person holding a medical degree must serve in the rural areas," the minister said.
G V Prasad Co-Chairman and CEO of Reddy's Laboratories, K Srinath Reddy, President, Public Health Foundation of India, B K Rao, Chairman ASSOCHAM National Council on Healthcare and Hospitals, Girish Krishnamurthy, Vice-President TCS Healthcare Solutions, Co-Founder, Sunil Sachdeva of Medanta - The Medicity, Aparajita Ramakrishnan of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and several others attended the event, it added.
