"Nalco has already got Utkal D and E coal blocks and the aluminium major will get Pottangi Bauxite mines soon," Tomar said at the Foundation Day celebrations of the state-owned aluminium giant here.
Notwithstanding the worldwide economic slowdown and sluggish market conditions, Nalco has been able to put up an impressive performance, the Union Minister said, adding, the company proposed to venture into several new activities.
Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram and Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also spoke about the role being played by Nalco in the overall development process and bringing economic progress.
Odisha's steel and mines minister Prafulla Mallick described Nalco as a pride for the state and said there should be no move towards disinvestment of the profit-making public sector company.
