Mata Chand Kaur, wife of former chief of Namdhari sect late Satguru Jagjit Singh, was shot by unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants on April 4 at Bhaini Sahib, the international headquarters of the sect, and later she died in a hospital.
"A reward of Rs 20 lakh will be given who will provide any clue about the killers of Mata Chand Kaur," President of Namdhari Darbar, H S Hanspal today said.
He announced this at a memorial meet organised at Bhain Sahib in the memory of Chand Kaur today.
Punjab Police had already announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for giving any information about the killers.
Addressing the meeting, Namdhari sect chief Satguru Udey Singh called Kaur "martyr", who sacrificed her life for the sake of truth.
"It is not a dispute over property as published in a section of media. Actually it is fight between good and bad," he said.
Condolence messages of Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Smriti Irani and Uma Bharati, AICC Vice President Rahul Gandhi, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki, Gujarat Governor O P Kohli, Radha Swami Beas Dera chief Maharaj Gurinder Singh, Nirankari chief Baba Harvinder Singh, Sacha Sauda Dera chief Baba Gurmit Ram Rahim were also read out at the meeting.
