NanoHealth, a social venture founded by a group of Indian School of Business, has launched holistic managed health care services in association with GVK BIO, for slum dwellers.
The healthcare services will be offered by creating local health networks and using innovative technology aiming to bring cost-effective healthcare to the doorstep for urban slum dwellers, GVK BIO said in a statement.
GVK BIO's proprietary HEART (Health Emphasised Analytical and Reporting Tool) platform is a cloud-based healthcare analytics framework with multiple applications in order to assist quick medical decision support, it said.
The mission of HEART is to improve general health and reduce or reverse progression of chronic diseases by building patient centric, high quality healthcare and clinical systems that are simple and accessible to all, GVK Biosciences Senior Vice President and Head of Informatics Shiva Subramaniam said.
"We hope that the HEART platform will help manage and reduce the threat of the rapidly growing chronic diseases, especially in the slum dwellers where healthcare is the last priority," he said.
NanoHealth CEO Manish Ranjan said the mission is to prevent premature deaths caused due to chronic diseases in urban slums.
"We have a strong team and with the help of credible partners like GVK BIO, we are making progress every day. Our journey as a social enterprise began while attending the healthcare management program at the Indian School of Business (ISB) and our alma mater has been very supportive and encouraging of us pursuing social entrepreneurship as a career option," Ranjan said.
NanoHealth will be first to use the mobile enabled and multilingual Disease Management Application on the HEART platform to register, enrol, record and manage patients across multiple countries starting with Hyderabad, Telangana.
The application acts as an enabler, through information processing, for the right stakeholders to decide and take action for maximum impact.
