Narayan Rane declared Congress candidate from Bandra East

The Congress announced the candidature of senior leader Narayan Rane for the Bandra East assembly by-elections here today.
Rane is set to take on Trupti Sawant of the Shiv Sena, party sources said.
The candidature was announced by Maharashtra state Congress chief Ashok Chavan today evening.
He said that All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Mohan Prakash conveyed the party decision to him telephonically.
He also said the Congress would not contest the Tasgaon assembly by-election which fell vacant recently due to the death of former Maharashtra home minister R R Patil.
