The 63-year-old actor, who has worked in many popular TV shows like 'Mirza Ghalib' and 'Bharat Ek Khoj', said he will act as a narrator by introducing and ending every episode.
"I became an actor to become different people and have fun... As my journey went ahead, I realised there is something more I need to do in my life which is why I never hesitate to extend my hand to any cause," Shah said.
'Nazar Ya Nazariya', to be aired on Doordarshan, is a 13-part series by Score Foundation in which cliched thoughts about blindness will be challenged.
"Each of us has to start within our own fields. It is very easy to make generalised statements and say this should be done. But if we start changing our reaction to our immediate area of engagement, perhaps that will help in gradually removing blindness," he said.
Although the "The Dirty Picture" star does not want to be a part of television fiction he wants to do shows which are centred around social issues.
Shah insists he is unhappy with the current content of television programmes.
"I watch television only if there is a cricket or tennis match. Sometimes I watch Geographic or Cartoon Network. The kind of fiction that we have on television is perhaps worst than movies. The trouble is people are already getting addicted...," he said.
He feels films have better content these days than the small screen.
