"Nashik city as well as in other parts of the district experienced moderate rains last evening. Various tehsils in Nashik, including Malegaon, Niphad, Sinnar, Baglan, Chandvad got these light showers. It will facilitate kharif sowing in the district to some extent," official sources said.
As per the official figures, the district has received only 3.49 per cent of average rainfall between June 1 and July 7. The depleting water storage has compelled the Nashik Municipal Corporation to effect around 20 per cent water cut in the city.
