Sampat Shid, the accused, has been booked under IPC sections 376 (rape), 346 (wrongful confinement), 495 (bigamy by concealment of first marriage) and 420 (cheating), a local police official said.
According to the complainant, a 21-year-old woman from Mokhada in Palghar district, the accused married her at the registrar's office in Nashik by hiding the fact that he was already married and had two children.
Afterwards, between September 17, 2016 and December 29, 2017, he kept her in 'captivity' at his sister's house, she alleged.
