Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman is set to make her directorial debut with an adaptation of Israeli novel, 'A Tale of Love and Darkness' and will scout locations in Israel in September.
The "Black Swan" star will step behind the camera to helm a big screen adaptation of Israeli author Amos Oz's autobiographical novel, reported Contactmusic.
Portman had initially expressed interest in directing the film several years ago.
The novel describes Oz's childhood living in Jerusalem under the British administration of Palestine. It has sold over a million copies since its release in 2002 and has been adapted in 28 languages around the world.
