The website (http://www.Cara.Nic.In/) of the Child Adoption Resource Authority (CARA)- a body under the Women and Child Development Ministry- remained defaced for some time.
"Website hacked by SH11. Pakistan Zindabad," the message by the hackers read.
There was also an animation posted on the website.
CARA CEO Lt Col Deepak Kumar (Retd) said, "The IP address shows that the hacker was from Pakistan."
The incident was noticed at around 1:45 PM today.

The original page of the website will be hosted back after a security audit has been carried out, according to the top official.
No police complaint has been filed about the incident.
