National-level blind cricket tournament at Kochi

Speaking to mediapersons here today, Navaz Nizar, a member of the trust, said, "We being serious observers of cricket have realised that blind cricket has not received as much attention and recognition it deserves."
"...It is a selection tournament of the India team for the world cup twenty-twenty tournament."
Four teams, India-Blue, India-Green, India-Yellow and India-Red are participating in the tournament.
The current Indian Blind Cricket team captain Shekar Naik from Karnataka would lead the India-blue, India-Green will be led by Ajay Reddy from Andhra Pradesh, India-Yellow by Ganesh Gujjara from Gujarat and India-red by B Prakash from Karnataka.
There will be seven matches including the final to be played on October 14. Teams will play against each other once to decide the two finalists, he said, adding it will be a 20-over a side match.
Indian cricketers S Sreesanth, Irfan Pathan, Y Venugopal Rao, Varon Aaron and Ranji trophy players, including Kerala's Prashant Chandran, C M Deepak, Rafi Vincent Gomez, Sony Cheruvathur and others have extended support, he said.
