Naveen fpr criminal cases cases against officials

With the allegation of people facing difficulties in getting benefits under different health insurance schemes in certain hospitals pouring in, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today asked health department to initiate criminal cases against such erring insititutes.
Stating that providing better health service is one of the top priorities of the state govenrment, Patnaik said that under no circumstances the people will be harassed by the hospital authorities, health minister Atanu S Nayak said after attending a meeting chaired by chief minister Patnaik.
Patnaik issued such direction while revewing implementation of the Biju Krushak Kalyan Yojana and Rastriya Swastha Bima Yojana in the state. He asked the health department to issue show cause notices to hospitals which have been accused of denying benefits of health insurances to the needy people.
The chief Minister also said that the hospitals must be taken into task for any activities for which the people suffer. Patnaik said that he would review the health insurance schemes once in every two months, health minister Atanu S Nayak said adding that the state government was contemplating to open a separate directorate to exculusively deal with health insurance schemes.
Meanwhile, the state government has already spent an amount of Rs 26 crore under Biju Krushak Kalyan Yojana (BKKY). Above 55 lakh farmers families have been covered under the BKKY.
Similarly, an amount of Rs 108.46 crore have been provided to different insurance companies under Rastriya Swastha Bima Yojana. As many as 44 lakh famies have been registered under the Rastriya Swastha Bima Yojana in the state.
