Dhowan who will also visit Thailand, will meet various dignitaries, notably Singapore's Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen, Chief of Defence Forces, Lt-Gen Ng Chee Meng, and Chief of the Navy, Rear-Admiral Lai Chung Han.
He will tour the prestigious Singapore Armed Forces Training Institute (SAFTI MI) for interaction with the faculty as well as young and middle level officers.
Dhowan will also visit operational facilities at Changi Naval base besides briefings on International Data Fusion Centre (IFC), Maritime Crisis Centre, and Maritime Security Task Force looking after coastal security of Singapore.
During his trip, Dhowan is scheduled to interact with the Thai Defence Minister, Chief of Defence Forces and the Commander-in-Chief of Royal Thai Navy.
Major areas being considered for furthering cooperation between the navies include hydrography, developing comprehensive maritime domain awareness through exchange of white shipping information, and increasing scope of coordinated patrolling among other such areas.
