ENC Chief of Staff, Vice-Admiral Bimal Verma flagged off the drive themed 'Fighting for Thrash Free Seas' at Rama Krishna Beach to Naval Coastal Battery.
The drive covered large areas spread all along the coast of the city and its outskirts, covering the Rama Krishna Beach, Tenneti Park, Rushikonda Beach, Kalinga beach and Yarada beach.
Vice Admiral Bimal Verma complemented citizen of Vizag for coming forward for the noble cause.
He also complemented the efforts of Greater Visakha Municipal Corporation in making Visakhapatnam a clean and green city.
The drive was also intended to inculcate amongst the general populace, the necessity of keeping the beaches clean and of safeguarding our environment, he added.
