Two persons were allegedly killed by Naxals over suspicion that they were police informers at a village in insurgency-hit Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra, police said today.
The two persons - Mutkurshah Holi, a resident of Khamtala village in Dhanora taluka, and Gangsu Kumoti, belonging to Huriyaldand village in Kurkheda taluka - were missing from their homes for the last two days, Sub-Divisional Officer of Police, Kurkheda, Abhijit Faske said.
Some villagers this morning informed the police that two bodies were lying in a forest near Khamtala village.
A police party was sent to the spot. The bodies were identified and sent for postmortem, Faske said.
The two persons were allegedly killed last night by the Naxals who suspected them to be police informers, he said, adding that further probe was on in the case.
