The incident occurred near restive Chingavaram village under Gadiras police station limits when the private bus was on its way to Sukma district headquarter from Dantewda, Sukma Additional Superintendent of Police Harish Rathore said.
A group of armed cadres stopped the vehicle near Chingavaram village, around 15 kms ahead of Sukma, and asked the passengers to alight from the bus and set it on fire, Rathore said.
However, no harm to passengers has been reported in the incident, he added.
Soon after being informed, security forces have been rushed to the spot, the ASP said, adding that a combing operation has been launched in the region to nab the attackers.
