Naxals torch bus near CRPF camp in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur

Naxalstodaytorcheda bus about a kilometre away from a CRPF camp in Timapur in Chhattisgarhs Bijapur district after asking its passengers to alight, police said.

The incident occurred at around 6 pm and the private buswas on its way to Basaguda from Jagdalpur, an official told PTI.

"A group of 20-25 Maoists, some of them armed, posing as civilians stopped the bus and set it ablaze after allowing passengers to get off. No passenger was hurt in the incident. Security forces have rushed to the spot and combing operations to apprehend the Naxals were underway," the official informed.
