To make scientific warehousing facilities available to as many post-harvest participants as possible, National Bulk Handling Corporation (NBHC) is making efforts to educate farmers, traders about warehouse receipt funding and benefits of loan against commodity deposits.
"We are undertaking activities to educate farmers and other smaller traders about warehouse receipt funding and benefits of availing loan against commodity deposits," NBHC Private chief business officer Neeraj Bhatia told reporters today.
NBHC, which is working towards alleviating poverty and food security of the nation, has contributed immensely to the growth of warehouse receipt funding and brought much needed security and liquidity to farmers and the entire ecosystem.
"As a trusted warehouse service provider, NBHC's Warehouse Receipts have been bringing in fiduciary trust in terms of the collateral management product where the banks are. The company has positively impacted the lives of over two lakh farmers through bank financing and secured warehouse financing to the tune of over Rs 11,300 crore," Bhatia said.
It has a wide association with 55 plus banks and as on date, warehouse receipt funding facility is available to farmers and eco-system participants on 170 commodities and in 900 plus locations in the country.
