NC-Cong Govt has lost people's confidence: Mufti

Claiming that the National Conference -Congress government has lost the people's confidence, Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party today said except indulging in "deceit tactics" this coalition regime has done nothing to address grievances of the people during its nearly six years' rule.
"The NC-led government has nothing to highlight as its achievement... Except indulging in deceit tactics, this regime has done nothing to address grievances of the people during the last nearly six years," PDP Patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed said at a rally at Gool in Ramban district.
He regretted that instead of addressing grievances of the people, this government brazenly participated in photo sessions to get cheap publicity and just to befool the people.

"Some of noticeable achievements of this government are legalising corruption, undermining democratic institutions, stifling dissent voices and hoodwinking people by making false promises," he said, and added that coffers of the state were empty due to the prevailing financial mismanagement.
The PDP patron said due to lack of transparency and accountability, the state has been pushed into a virtual whirlpool of corruption, maladministration and despair.
He said the development process was almost paralysed while major initiatives taken by the previous PDP-led coalition government have been almost abandoned.
"The Prime Minister's reconstruction programme is also in disarray and various Centre-sponsored projects could not take off due to failure of the state government to give matching grants," he said.
