"We welcome the historic decision to summon Gen Singh before the assembly. It is a victory for democracy," National Conference said in a statement here.
Giving his ruling on a privilege motion moved by NC ministers, the Speaker said he would summon the former Army Chief very soon.
"By accepting the privilege motion to summon Gen Singh the demand of the people of the state has been fulfilled and democratic values have been strengthened," the statement said.
"Singh's allegations have brought every politician under the scanner and people of the state have the right to know which politicians and ministers were paid money (by the army)," the statement said.
