"National Conference will emerge as a force to reckon with in 2014 elections," Rana said during public meetings in Nagrota constituency of Jammu district.
He referred to his recent visit to far-off areas of the Jammu region and said the enthusiasm among people gave him confidence that "National Conference will sweep the ensuing parliamentary and assembly elections across the State".
Hitting out at Bharatiya Janata Party for demanding the abolition of Article 370, Rana said the party will stand like a rock to defend the state's special status and make "destructive, divisive and communal elements lick the dust".
This is the legacy which will be carried forward with same vigour and those coming in its way will find their political space shrinking, he said.
