Superintendent of Police Sandeep Karnik said that Pritvi Vyaprilal Vallecha (75), the corporator, had demanded Rs 60,000 for facilitating construction of a room.
The complaianant approached the ACB, which laid a trap and caught the corporator red-handed while accepting Rs 25,000.
He was booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
Meanwhile, NCP leader and Ward Committee Chairperson from Mira Bhayander, Vandana R Chakre, her son Amol Chakre and Ramkumar Ravinandan Rai, all arrested by the ACB yesterday while taking a bribe, were remanded in police custody by the court today till March 10, said DGP R J Kadri.
